The LA Galaxy were unable to hold on to a 2-0 lead as they finished their match against Real Salt Lake with a point each at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The Galaxy scored first through Dejan Joveljic in the seventh minute of play. Daniel Aguirre set him up a pass in the box that the Serbian striker put away for his sixth goal this campaign.

Joveljic played a part in the Galaxy’s second goal as he set up Douglas Costa in the 34th minute of the game. LA broke through RSL lines with excellent passing and the Brazilian capped it off with his third goal of the season.

LA didn’t close out the first half in the best way as RSL’s Anderson Julio scored a minute before the halftime whistle was blown. A deflection off defender Mauricio Cuevas helped beat ‘keeper Novak Micovic who was making his first MLS start.

In the 76th minute, RSl’s Diego Luna tied the match with a low strike on target for his fourth goal of the season. LA’s streak of allowing two goals extended to eight games and the team is five games without a win.

"Two nil up, two nil up and again the same things happen in last minutes of the first half,” said a frustrated Maya Yoshida. “It's the same things just nothing special they didn't make you go wow but we conceded again.” The Galaxy has allowed 12 goals in their last four MLS games

“I'm 35 but I still want to win every game, I don't want to lose every game like that”.

While the defensive sector of the team is trying to build consistency, parts of LA’s attack a rebuilding and showing they might still have a future with the club.
